How to be a Top Performer in 2021

New year, new you!

What is your New Year’s resolution this year? Maybe it’s to ease off the junk food or make more time for relaxation – or maybe it’s to increase your performance. Becoming a top performer is by no means simple – but it is also not impossible. Many real estate professionals have started from the bottom and worked their way up. If your goal for 2021 is to work your way up to becoming a top performer, we have some tips for you:top performer

1. Increase your market knowledge.

The basis of any professional is their education on what they are doing. Keep track of real estate news, stay on top of NAR data, and make sure that you know how the market is doing at all times. This way, you will be educated on every aspect of the real estate field and will know how to conduct business accordingly.

2. Work on negotiating.

No top performer got where they were by accepting every first deal that comes their way. As a real estate professional, you should know how to negotiate well and know when to come to a compromise. If a client offers a deal that seems unacceptable with you, counter their deal with what you seem to be fair – negotiating is a key aspect of real estate and it is important to have a strong skillset in that field.

3. Keep in touch with clients.

Even after a deal goes through, it is important to remain in contact with clients. If a client has a good experience with you, it can lead to referrals, which can lead to even more clients. But this can’t happen if a consistent relationship isn’t kept, even after a deal is closed – follow-up emails are key and sending them every now and then will keep clients informed about your brokerage, and may even lead them to come back for future business interactions.
