What kind of agent are you?
As an agent, you’ll need an appealing agent bio to let prospective clients know what you’re all about. Essentially, you’re trying to answer the question, “what kind of agent are you?” This can be difficult to do in just a couple short paragraphs, because there are so many characteristics that make each agent unique. That’s why you’ll need to highlight what’s important:
1. List your strong suits.
Your bio is your personal canvas where you can illustrate all your successes. Don’t be too humble with this! Clients want to see what you can do, and it is your opportunity to start off with a strong first impression. You won’t seem arrogant by listing what you’ve achieved – you’ll seem impressive.
2. Use a professional photo.
Clients want to know that they will be able to take you seriously, and that you will take them seriously as well. Your senior graduation photo may have been a good choice for your LinkedIn profile to gain internships through college, but now’s the time to get a little more serious. Many agents will get professional headshots taken for their bios and profiles, which is always a good idea, but at the very least you should make sure your picture is recent, head-on, and not too posed. A classic shoulders-up picture with a warm smile can go a long way.
3. Explain what makes you unique.
What sets you apart from every other agent out there? Is it your strong hospitality skills? Attention to detail? Willingness to go the extra mile for a client? Think back to past clients and think about why exactly those were successful. A strong component to real estate is the trust between an agent and client, and that is what will interest more clients to you. Setting yourself apart from the competition and explaining why you are the better choice will make you a much stronger candidate than it would if you had a cookie-cutter bio.
